Photographed at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Seaside 39 captures the shoreline at a moment when light transformed the surface of the water. Shot on Ilford HP5 with my Canon AE-1, I was drawn to the way the sun’s reflection glimmered almost like glass, giving the water a sculptural presence. The frame holds a quiet tension, with midtones and grain that soften the space while still emphasizing form. There are no figures, only the landscape performing.
