11x14” Silver Gelatin Print from 35mm Ilford HP5
Seaside 31 was taken at night along the shoreline of Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut, using my Canon AE-1 and Ilford HP5 film. The image captures the surface of the water lit by the moon, where reflections scatter like constellations. I was drawn to the way the light shimmered across the waves, not as a source of visibility but as a presence that is calm, fragmented, and alive. In this frame, the ocean feels infinite, yet intimate. The absence of horizon or anchor allows the viewer to float in the surface pattern, a visual field that suggests both silence and movement. This is part of my environmental series focused on nocturnal landscapes and the poetic tension between urban coastlines and natural rhythm.
